Aida Giachello, Ph.D. will receive the LSWO Leadership Award, she is an associate professor of social work at the University of Illinois at Chicago, was named to Time magazine's list of the nation's 25 most influential Hispanics. Giachello founded the Midwest Latino Health Research, Training and Policy Center at UIC 12 years ago.

Adriana Gonzalez,LCSW, CADC will be presenting at Conference 2006. She is a previous recipient of the LSWO 2005 Leadership Award. She currently has a holistic practice in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico Adriana is a excellent example of a Latina social worker who has taken the career management advice from the LSWO.

Anayansi Prado,  Film Director of  “Maid in America”

On June 22, 2006, there will be a special showing of the award winning film “Maid in America”, about Latina domestic workers. There will be a presentation and group discussion with a panel of social workers along with the Director of the film, Ms. Anayansi Prado.
